Total Warrior 10km, 5th August, Shap

Final of the three events passed over successfully without too much drama and a few drinks to celebrate.  The 10km route included more gentle jogging in the first half with most of the obstacles and hazards in the latter part of the course. The following photos provide a flavour of the day's highs, lows, hots and colds which was set adjacent to Shap Abbey and was another clear day across from the Lake District.

The first real test was the Plunge, and was a good way to get some adrenalin in the system........
These next two are from the Cement Mixer and which I found the most tiresome courtesy of being marooned/ stuck in the mud and struggling to overcome the suction around my left leg and foot. The beauty of having four team mates was the help and care that was always there throughout the 10km - best seen in the second of the photos below.

This is a great shot of my team mates Keith, Rachel and Sarah leaping over the Human BBQ - I came a cropper on this and just made it into the photo although there's more chance of winning an old fashioned "spot-the-ball" competition than picking out my graceful entry into the water.

Time for a sit part way round.

This was a favourite and brought out the kid in everyone.

It was good to finish - understatement - it was the final part of the three summer's challenges and was a first for me and out of my comfort zone too. The rest of the day was taken very easily with a few drinks - the day was topped off superbly by the King Arms Hotel entertainment! Big thanks to Keith, Sarah and Rachel for the team effort.
